We are very proud to finally share something that I have been working on behind the scenes along with the amazing Lochcarron of Scotland to design our very own, Deeside Books and Gifts Ballater Tartan.
 
Registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans.
 
Every colour and shade has been chosen with care to reflect everything we love about Ballater, the place we all call home; the hills, the river, the village, the iconic buildings and the people who come together to create an amazing community.
 
My hope is that this Tartan can travel far beyond our village, worn by visitors all over the world, as a little piece of Ballater to take home with them. A reminder of a special trip, a favourite place or a moment in time that stayed with them. But just as much, I hope that the people who call Ballater their home, will love it too.
 
Our new and exclusive Deeside Books & Gifts Ballater Tartan. The colours chosen were deliberate, each one reflects something meaningful about Ballater and its surroundings. From the natural landscape, to the heritage and character of the village. The colours were considered from how they would work together visually and also what they represent.
 
HAWTHORN FLY: to signify the Royal Bridge and the beautiful Churches and buildings in the village.
SPRUCE GREEN: to signify the Craigendarroch Hill and the scenery we have around Ballater.
OLD GOLD: to signify the warm community that makes Ballater what it is today.
MAUVE: to signify the heather on the hills surrounding us and a tribute to our Scottish national symbol, the Thistle.
ELLAN SAGE: to signify the historical, Old Royal Station which stands at the heart of the village.
BONNET BLUE: to signify the River Dee that runs alongside our lovely Ballater.
